Welcome to St. Raymond School

Welcome to St. Raymond School, a Catholic elementary school dedicated to nurturing a Christ-centered community where students serve God and others, develop their talents, strive for academic excellence and become life-long learners.  Founded in 1926, St. Raymond School continues to build on the strong foundation and traditions that were established over the years.  Students are encouraged to develop a positive respect for themselves and others while learning to demonstrate faith through action.  Our academic purpose is to develop each student to achieve scholastic success and to grow   spiritually, emotionally, socially and aesthetically.  Come and visit to see us in action.

Principal's corner and announcements

Principal’s Corner… for June 2, 2019

Another turn of the calendar page and another beginning of another month!  I cannot believe that we have made it to June already!  Thank God that the weather has remained pleasant and not too hot, which can make the classrooms unbearable!  This week the countdown begins with 13 (unless, of course, you’re one of our 8th graders!).  However, we still have serious tests to complete before we can say good-bye for the summer.

Let’s look at the week to come:

·         Monday:  NYS Science Written Assessment for Grades 4 and 8; Math Comp for Grade 8; Baked ziti

·         Tuesday:  Language Arts Comp for Grade 8; Pizza; Parish Children’s Choir from 5-6 PM in the auditorium

·         Wednesday:  Hot Dog Day; Literature and Social Studies Comps for Grade 8

·         Thursday:  Bagel day; 7th and 8th Grade SPIRIT NIGHT

·         Friday:  Hot pretzels at lunch; PSA sponsored GRADUATES’ LUNCH; 2:00 PM dismissal for monthly Faculty Meeting

Friday is the beginning of the many graduation activities for the 8th grade.  It is their last full day of school, since they start a special schedule the second week of June.  Needless to say, it’s an exciting and fun-filled time for our “senior” class.

Thursday evening is a special one for our 7th and 8th graders as they battle for first place in SPIRIT NIGHT.  Both classes have prepared for the competition and are ready to perform.  It’s a night full of fun for all.

Let me thank everyone who supported our annual Golf Outing through your participation in golf or dinner or by purchasing raffle tickets.  Whatever you did, please know that we appreciate your efforts to help us with the biggest fundraiser of the year.  God bless you all!

Have a great first week of June and remember to thank God for the beautiful trees and flowers and plants …even if they do make you sneeze!  God bless.
